Ricki brings 28 years of dental hygiene experience and advanced training in TMJ/TMD‑focused soft‑tissue therapy, lymphatic drainage, and integrative wellness. Her work bridges dentistry, manual therapy, and nervous‑system regulation to provide conservative, effective care for patients with jaw pain, facial tension, and chronic inflammation.

TMJ massage is a focused treatment for tension and pain related to temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. It targets the jaw, face, neck, and shoulders using gentle pressure, myofascial release, trigger point work, and optional intra‑oral techniques to improve jaw function and ease symptoms like jaw pain, headaches, ear discomfort, and muscle tightness.
With a background in dental hygiene and advanced TMJ training, I provide comprehensive care with assessment and follow‑up sessions as needed.
Referral of TMD diagnosis from Primary Care Doctor, Chiropractor or Dentist is required.

Therapeutic massage is a structured, goal‑oriented form of bodywork that focuses on relieving pain, reducing muscle tension, and improving overall physical function. Unlike a purely relaxation‑based massage, it uses targeted techniques to address specific areas of discomfort, muscular imbalance, or restricted movement. This approach is often used to support recovery from stress, injury, or chronic tension, and can complement medical or wellness care.

All massages at Mindful Body Balance take place on a vibroacoustic sound therapy table, which gently delivers low‑frequency sound vibrations through the body during your session. These calming vibrations help your muscles relax more quickly, reduce tension, and support a deeper nervous‑system reset.
The result is a massage that feels more effective, more soothing, and more restorative — without added pressure or discomfort. You always have the option of turning the vibration down or completely off for your experience.

MLD is a gentle, rhythmic technique that stimulates the body’s natural lymphatic flow. Using light, precise strokes, it helps reduce swelling, support immune function, and promote deep relaxation.
Ideal for chronic inflammation, autoimmune conditions, or anyone seeking a lighter, more balanced feeling. Clients often leave feeling refreshed, less puffy, and more centered. Vibration Plate and Red Light Therapy included but optional.

Red light therapy uses gentle red and near‑infrared wavelengths to support tissue recovery, reduce muscle tension, and calm the nervous system. It enhances circulation, encourages cellular repair, and helps soften chronic tightness.
Full‑Body: Broad support for circulation, relaxation, and whole‑body recovery. Targeted: Focuses on specific areas like the jaw, neck, shoulders, or low back—ideal alongside TMJ or therapeutic massage for localized relief.

MediCupping massage uses gentle, machine‑controlled suction to lift and decompress the soft tissues, helping the body release deep tension, improve circulation, and restore ease. At Mindful Body Balance, this technique is applied with a mindful, therapeutic focus—supporting structural balance, reducing inflammation, and complementing specialized TMJ and craniofacial work. It offers a comfortable, effective way to soften tight fascia, calm the nervous system, and create space for more fluid, pain‑free movement.
TMJ therapy at Mindful Body Balance is designed for individuals experiencing jaw pain, tension, headaches, clenching, grinding, or dysfunction related to the temporomandibular joint. This specialized work combines targeted massage, neuromuscular techniques, and structural alignment strategies to reduce pain, improve mobility, and calm overactive jaw muscles.
The integration of medical massage, craniofacial knowledge, and whole‑body assessment allows TMJ therapy to address not just the jaw itself but the interconnected systems—neck, shoulders, posture, stress patterns—that influence TMJ dysfunction. This creates a more complete and lasting path to relief.

Vibroacoustic therapy (VAT) uses low‑frequency sound waves and gentle vibrations to promote deep relaxation, ease discomfort, and calm the nervous system. It’s a soothing, non‑invasive way to support overall well‑being.
Benefits: • Deep relaxation • Reduced tension and discomfort • Nervous system regulation • A grounded, restored feeling
What to Expect: Enjoy VAT as a stand‑alone session or add it before, during, or after your massage. You’ll rest comfortably on a cushioned table with headphones, an eye pillow, and calming music or guided meditation as gentle vibrations help your body unwind. Sessions range from 10–60 minutes.

Vibration plate therapy uses gentle whole‑body vibrations to stimulate lymphatic flow, activate the muscles, and boost circulation. As the platform oscillates, the body responds with small, rapid muscle contractions that help move fluid, wake up sluggish tissues, and support overall mobility.
What It Does
• Encourages lymphatic drainage and fluid movement
• Increases circulation and warms the tissues
• Activates stabilizing muscles and improves body awareness
• Provides a light, energizing boost before or after hands‑on therapy
How It Feels
Clients stand on a vibrating platform for a short, guided session. The sensation is invigorating yet gentle—like a subtle internal “wake‑up” that prepares the body for deeper therapeutic work.
Clients should not use the vibration plate if they have:
